FAQs for The Sky’s the Limit
Why should I go?
Because it will be fun! And it will be a wonderful opportunity to learn how PhillySEEDS is addressing Philadelphia’s two critical issues of education and housing.
Where would I park?
There is a lot on-site and there will be PHA Police officers there to direct you.
What should I wear?
Given the hour and location, please wear what is comfortable, and will look nice in any photos!
What’s the program for the evening?
5 p.m. — Open bar, with wine, beer, and soft drinks. Stationary and passed hors d’oeuvres will be ongoing, and delicious! Opportunity for interaction with PhillySEEDS program participants.
5 – 8 p.m. — Ongoing tours of the school will be available, done by Vaux student representatives.
6 p.m. – Welcome from Kelvin Jeremiah, speeches by local dignitaries, and by three representatives of our PhillySEEDS success stories, with others present and recognized.
7:45 p.m. — Finish up the games, give out prizes, have more fun, food, and drink, and establish good memories and a positive feeling about what PhillySEEDS can and is doing for education and housing in Philadelphia!
4 – 5 p.m. — More extensive tours of the school will be available (shorter ones will be ongoing throughout the evening) with information about how it is and will be used, both as the Vaux Big Picture High School, and as a community resource. Information will also be available regarding PHA’s revitalization initiatives in the community and throughout Philadelphia.
