The PhillySEEDS 2024 Gala, held on July 11, 2024, was an unforgettable celebration!
For our 11th anniversary, we gathered at the elegant Arts Ballroom in Center City and highlights of the evening included: 1) the participation of Mayor Cherelle Parker, who received the PhillySEEDS Trailblazer Award for her outstanding record of innovation and change-making, and added her eloquence about the importance of the work of PhillySEEDS to the festivities; 2) our excellent Emcee, Lorina Marshall-Blake; 3) an honorary award presented to Andrea Lawful-Sanders; 4) surprise awards for long-time PhillySEEDS and PHA advocates, Darrell Clarke and Estelle Richman; 5) words from recent Homeownership and Scholarship awardees; and, of course, 6) our Scholarship Awards Ceremony, which continues to inspire us as we build on our important work!
We experienced an incredible and record-breaking turnout from our dedicated sponsors, PHA Commissioners, residents, friends, and PHA employees. Thanks to their generosity, we also achieved a record amount in fundraising, all of which will go directly to PhillySEEDS’ core programs, which include our programs for Scholarships, Homeownership Matching Grants, HCV Security Deposit Matching Grants, and the newly launched Post-secondary Education Assistance.
