Sky’s the Limit Event

DID YOU KNOW…?

  • PHA receives about 93% of its budgeted income from the federal
government – and no funds for the main initiatives of its non-profit
    support, PhillySEEDS.
  • In its 5 years of existence, PhillySEEDS has:
    1) helped over 70 PHA families (228 household members) move into
    their own homes, as first-time homebuyers;
    2) awarded over $1,092,000 in Scholarships to 272 awardees; and
    3) assisted 67 PHA residents with their security deposits, to move into
    better neighborhoods
  • Under an MOU with T-Mobile, 4500 free T-Mobile tablets are being
made available to over 4,500 PHA households, with 2 years of data
    paid for by PhillySEEDS.
  • Under an MOU with Big Picture, PhillySEEDS provides a $500 per
student subsidy to Big Picture for students at Vaux High School,
regardless of whether they are PHA residents.
  • PHA is committing $500 million to revitalizing the Sharswood
neighborhood, as part of an innovative vision to create communities
of choice and opportunity for public housing and all residents.

PhillySEEDS and PHA believe in creating life-changing opportunities, in
housing and education, to improve Philadelphia — and the lives of PHA
residents and communities!
